We aim for a seamless result by matching species, grain direction, width, and finish, then blending carefully. How close we get depends on age of the floor, prior stains, and available stock. Older or discontinued products may need creative matching. We are honest about what is realistic before work starts, and when a larger refinish is needed so the repair does not stand out.
Do I need to refinish the whole room after a board repair?
Not always. Small repairs can sometimes be blended locally. Larger patches, color-matched replacements, or repairs next to worn traffic lanes often look best when the surrounding area is refinished so sheen and color align. We recommend the least invasive path that still looks intentional in real lighting.
What if my wood species or width is hard to find?
We help source the closest match or discuss compatible options and stain strategies to harmonize with existing floors. Older exotic species and discontinued widths can take extra planning. Bring a sample board or clear photos when possible—it speeds matching and avoids guesswork.
